# Settings

> Configure your workspace, preferences, and integrations

## Overview

Settings is your central hub for configuring Apigene Copilot. Here you can manage workspace preferences, user settings, API configurations, and system-level options to tailor the platform to your needs.

## Accessing Settings

Navigate to **Settings** from the main navigation menu or user profile dropdown.

## Common Configuration Tasks

### Adding API Keys for Model Providers

Enable AI models by adding provider API keys:

**OpenAI**

1. Navigate to Settings > AI Models
2. Find OpenAI section
3. Click "Add API Key"
4. Paste your OpenAI API key
5. Click "Save" and "Test Connection"

**Anthropic**

1. Navigate to Settings > AI Models
2. Find Anthropic section
3. Click "Add API Key"
4. Paste your Anthropic API key
5. Select available models
6. Click "Save"

**Google AI**

1. Navigate to Settings > Organization > Model Settings
2. Find Google AI section
3. Click "Add API Key"
4. Paste your Google AI API key
5. Configure model access
6. Click "Save"

**Amazon Bedrock**

1. Navigate to Settings > Organization > Model Settings
2. Find **Amazon Bedrock**
3. Enter IAM **Access Key ID**, **Secret Access Key**, and **Region**
4. Save and test — available Bedrock models appear in the Copilot model selector

**Microsoft Foundry**

1. Navigate to Settings > Organization > Model Settings
2. Find **Microsoft Foundry** (Azure OpenAI)
3. Configure authentication (service principal or API key) and add deployments
4. Each deployment maps to a model name shown in Copilot

### Reasoning Effort

Control extended thinking for supported models:

1. Settings → Organization → Model Settings
2. Find **Reasoning Effort**
3. Choose **None** (fastest), **Low**, **Medium**, or **High**
4. Save organization settings

Higher effort may improve complex answers but increases latency and cost.

### Mock Execution Mode

For development and demos without live API credentials:

1. Settings → Organization → Advanced (or Model Settings accordion)
2. Enable **Mock Execution Mode** — returns OpenAPI example responses instead of real API calls
3. Optionally enable **LLM-generated mocks** for realistic values when examples are absent
4. Save — Copilot uses mocks for application actions until you disable the setting

### Authentication Providers (Self-Hosted)

Apigene Copilot supports multiple auth backends via `NEXT_PUBLIC_AUTH_PROVIDER`:

| **apigene**  | Apigene-native basic auth (self-hosted) |

Configure the matching environment variables in your deployment. Contact your administrator for sign-in URLs and client setup.

### Configuring Application Defaults

Set default behaviors for application usage:

**Tool Choice Default**

1. Settings > Application Settings
2. Find "Default Tool Choice"
3. Select: Auto / Required / None
4. Apply to all users or per-user

**Application Access**

1. Settings > Application Settings
2. Configure default application access
3. Set restrictions if needed
4. Save preferences

### Managing User Access

Add or remove team members:

**Add User**

1. Settings > Team Management
2. Click "Invite User"
3. Enter email address
4. Select role (Admin, User, Viewer)
5. Send invitation

**Remove User**

1. Settings > Team Management
2. Find user in list
3. Click "Remove"
4. Confirm removal
5. User access revoked immediately

**Change User Role**
